On September 26, 2025, the International Primary School Meerane once again celebrated Language Day – a day of action that celebrates the diversity of languages and cultures around the world. This year, the children embarked on an exciting "journey" around the globe.
They learned about five different countries and their cultures: France, Morocco, Chile, China, and Sweden. At the beginning, each child received a "passport" that was stamped in each country they visited—just like on a real trip around the world.
A Moroccan teacher provided exciting insights into the language and culture of his home country. Our Spanish teacher, Mr. Gormaz, reported enthusiastically about Chile from first-hand experience. Ms. Zhang introduced the children to Chinese culture and even taught them some characters. Sweden and France were also represented: there, the students not only learned interesting facts about language and traditions, but also about people's everyday lives. This brought each country to life in a vivid way.
The children had great fun discovering new words, idioms, traditions, and customs. Language Day was once again an unforgettable experience that raised awareness of cultural diversity and encouraged everyone to look beyond their own horizons.
